The Kindle Fire 1st Generation was, as the name implies, Amazon's first foray into creating a tablet as opposed to an e-reader. It is perfect for those who are really just looking for an e-reader with more features and connectivity. A simple interface allows anyone to use this tablet easily, and Amazon support gives access to a lot more than the storage size would suggest.
Amazon is one of the best-known online stores out there, and their specialty has always been books. They came out on top of the ebook trend in particular, realizing the potential that portable, accessible electronic books would have. As tablets also became more popular, it was clear that people would appreciate a device that combined the convenience of an e-reader with the internet capabilities of a tablet, and thus, the Kindle Fire 1st Gen was born. It is easy to see the device's origins, but that makes it all the more attractive to many users.
While it doesn't pack the same power or HDX displays as some later Kindle Fire models, the Kindle Fire 1st Gen definitely still has a target audience. There are plenty of people who mostly want an e-reader, but would also like to be able to access websites, app-style tools, and their e-mail on the same device, rather than having to carry around something separate to handle their internet communications and scheduling. If you are among this group, then you'll hardly find a better option than the Kindle Fire 1st Gen. It's easy to use but still has plenty of Internet power.
