The Galaxy Note 8.0 is a smaller tablet, weighing in at just 0.76 pounds. Speaking of which, it is 8.2 inches wide when you’re looking at it as a landscape. At that point, it is also 5.3 inches tall and just 0.31 inches thick. This puts it at about the same proportions as the iPad Mini, though bigger. It has rounded edges, with metal running the circumference that helps with durability. Otherwise, the outer shell of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is made from plastic.
One feature that immediately separates this tablet from others is the fact that it has three buttons at the bottom, just below the screen. As with any other tablet, there’s the home key, of course. But the Note 8.0 also includes a menu and back key. This means you’ll get more out of this tablet’s eight inch screen without on-screen buttons taking up space.
Samsung also includes a stylus with this phone, as well as a place to store it inside the device. The stylus helps you do more on the tablet without adding more buttons to the screen. This version is based off the one used for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, except that various software upgrades have helped improve integration with this smaller device.
The lens on this device’s camera is on the back in the middle and because of the tablet’s dimensions, you can easily hold it up and click away. This camera is able to provide five megapixels in resolution.
Internally, this device features Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for an operating system, with 2GB of RAM and another 16 for memory. It also comes ready for Bluetooth 4.0 functionality and can support popular Wi-Fi standards.
